LifeWave - BME Technology

LifeWave - BME

LifeWave - BME – Bio-Medical Electrotherapies is a multidisciplinary field that provides an enabling platform technology to investigate, interpret and apply bioelectrical data in biomedicine. BME is based on fundamental methods for the investigation and development of innovative electrotherapies. It is a generic approach which can be applied to a wide range of disease conditions. Practically, following the selection of the disease target, the BME algorithm is operated by two consecutive and interactive methods i.e., R&D (Research and Development). The BME project starts with the Research (R) stage which is a go no go exploratory investigation. The Research (R) stage is focused on investigations of electrical signals in humans in a quantitative and controlled manner. We utilize validated high sensitivity data acquisition systems to study bioelectrical signals as potential targets for treatment or diagnosis of the disease target.

The milestone of the Research (R) stage is achieved only where specific signals (or mechanisms) are defined and indicated to have a principal role in the pathophysiology of the target disease.
At this stage, we activate the Development (D) stage to design the electrotherapy device prototype for the POC – Proof of Principal studies in humans. The chart outlines the LifeWave - BME operation algorithm.

LifeWave - BST  The noninvasive BST electrical transmission mimics the naturally occurring pulses of healing wounds (“normal wounds”) and creates an electric induction field around the hard-to-heal wound, which accelerates the healing rate. The BST transmits the signals through a single stimulation channel to a pair of surface electrodes affixed around opposing sides of the ulcer and is completely noninvasive and painless.
