Dr. Michel Afargan, Chief Executive Officer and Board Director
Dr. Afargan joined LifeWave as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of LifeWave - Board of Directors in November 2007 (prior to Mr. Ramon's appointment). Dr. Afargan is a Senior Executive Director with over 15 years of management leadership experience. Prior to his appointment in LifeWave, Dr. Afargan served as Corporate VP Strategic Developments in several BioMedical companies in Israel. Dr. Afargan was the CEO and Founder of HPBM Ltd., an Israeli BioMedical company that provides an R&D network for early and advanced stages of BioMed projects. He was also the Founder and Executive Manager of the Israeli consortium Pharmalogica, a Research & Development (industrial & academic) network for the application of early prediction of potential medical products. From 1994 to 2000 Dr. Afargan was the Head of Pharmacology R&D, Peptor Israel, and from 2004 to 2007 he served as VP Strategic Development of IntecPharma Israel (TASE), a drug delivery company. As an expert in turn-arounds, he led, during recent years, several Israeli BioMedical startup companies.
Dr. Afargan has four academic degrees: B.Sc. and M.Sc. (studies) in Life Sciences from Ben-Gurion University, Beer-Sheva, Israel;
Pharmacist (B. Pharm.); M.Sc.Pharm, and Ph.D. from the Faculty of Medicine, the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel.
Mr. Gal Peleg, Chief Finance Officer
Mr. Gal Peleg joined LifeWave as Manager of Finances in October 2007. Prior to his appointment at LifeWave, Mr. Peleg served as Controller of a subsidiary of Internet Gold and Controller of Tescom Software Systems Testing LTD. He also acquired experience in dealing with biothecnology companies when he worked at Ernest & Young. Mr. Peleg holds a B.A. in Business and Accounting from the College of Management and is a certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Nir Shoval, Marketing Operations Leader
Mr. Nir Shoval joined LifeWave as a Leader of Marketing Operations in November 2009. Prior to his appointment at LifeWave, Mr. Shoval was a Director of Business Development in a private management firm specialized in investments in biomedical and life-sciences projects. Mr. Shoval was an Advisor to the Minster of Justice and a Coordinator of Management Operations to the vice Prime Minister of the Israeli government. He also served as an Operation Security Officer in a governmental organization.
Mr. Shoval is a graduate of Government Affairs Strategy & Policy from IDC, Herzelia (private college) and nearing the end of Global Management MBA studies at the College of Management in Rishon Le'Zion.
Mrs. Tamar Mor Yosef Weizmann, QA Manager
Mrs. Tamar M.Y. Weizmann joined LifeWave as Product Manager in October 2007 and was later appointed as LifeWave's QA Manager in October 2008. Prior to LifeWave, she gained several years of professional experience in the field of Product Management at one of the leading global pharmaceutical companies in Israel.
Dr. Yossi Muncher, Regulatory and Clinical Leader
Dr. Yossi Muncher joined LifeWave as Regulatory and Clinical Leader in February 2008. Dr. Muncher has held several VP positions for medical device companies in the regulatory and clinical fields and is also involved in product development for pre-clinical and other developmental issues. He has also been involved in the medical industry since 1995, focusing on medical devices, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, covering several disciplines of cardiology including cardiovascular and electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, orthopedics, CNS, chronic wounds, general surgery and more. He has vast experience in pre-clinical aspects, clinical development and regulation for both the FDA and Europe, and has a deep understanding of quality assurance and marketing. Dr. Muncher earned his PhD in Life Sciences in Reproductive Physiology at the Ben Gurion University in the Negev.
